This month, Broadmeadows Central proudly features a dedicated community reflection space to engage with and appreciate the significance of this sacred time.
Ramadan is observed by Muslim communities around the world, with shared values expressed through beautifully diverse traditions. From glowing fanous lanterns in Egypt to Ramadan drummers in Türkiye, and from light takjil snacks in Indonesia to sweet maamoul shared in the Levant, each culture marks the holy month in its own way. This space serves as a peaceful area to pause and reflect in, while showcasing the importance of Ramadan and the Islamic faith.
Additionally, adorning the space are beautiful visuals of historical mosques from around the world, a collection of artwork created by grade 5 & 6 students from Sirius College, who have creatively expressed what Ramadan and the Islamic faith mean to them.
Through this aim , we aim to foster greater understanding and awareness, inviting our diverse community to learn more about the significance of Ramadan and its deep cultural and spiritual meaning for Muslims.
Find our reflection space located outside Kmart.
